For victims of domestic violence, abuse can come in many forms. Whether it is physical, mental, or emotional abuse the damage left by abusers can be both internal and external and the victims of this abuse need care and healing to move on from the damage inflicted. It is important that survivors set up self-care such as therapy, creative outlets, exercise, hygiene routines, and self affirmations in order to change the abuse outlook that has been pressed upon them during the cycle of abuse.

According to alivenewspaper, the state experiences the highest rate of domestic violence in the United States, with some sort of instance of domestic violence happening every 7 minutes. Although both men, women, and children can be the victims of abuse, women experience it at a much greater rate. With this in mind, Genucel has been supporting women and their families who are in need of support following domestic violence in their lives. Women Aware knows how important it is for survivors to pick up their lives and change the narrative they have been told by their abusers. To support this mindset, Women Aware debuted their Moving Beyond Abuse 5K Race & Charity Walk in 2019 in order to support women and families in their community to move on.

Helping to support the 5K endeavor is Genucel; not only are they making monetary contributions to help make the walk possible but they are contributing gift bags filled with their products to lift the spirits of the Women Aware clients. Genucel knows how important it is for abuse survivors to feel good about themselves both inside and out in order to actively participate in self-care. Genucel’s products help in a variety of ways, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and increasing the firmness of the skin using their patented PhotoCellTec technology. Using this technology, Genucel’s hope is that they are able to ease the burden and journey survivors go through in order to rediscover their best selves.
