Oh, the world of Anime. What is Anime? The Google definition is “a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children.” Some are skeptics, let them get stuck in the “I don’t watch cartoon” mindset. Amine is so much more that animated artwork. There are life lessons to learn, romance to follow, and fighting skills to learn, and even the best sports anime to get you cheering. Anime isn’t just about creative artwork; it’s also about creative writing.

A favorite of Anime fans is “Naruto.” Created by Masashi Kishmoto (Both artwork and storyline), Naruto has a following in many countries besides Japan. The main character, Uzamaki Naruto, is a teen ninja who is trying to find his way in a world where others fear and scorn him. You can’t really blame them; he does have an evil fox spirit trapped inside of him. However, his Sensei, Hitake Kakashi trains Naruto and two others, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno, to fight. Through this lifestyle Naruto finds meaning in his life. There is humor, some teen crushing going on, and some sage wisdom, and ninja fighting. There’s so much to love you’ll think you’re watching a harem anime.

Some favorite Naruto quotes:

“On that day, you taught me that solitude is painful! I understand that so well right now. I have family, and I have friends but if you’re gone… To me… It will be the same as being alone.”

Haruno Sakura (Naruto’s crush)

“To know what is right and choose to ignore it is the act of a coward.”

Hatake Kakashi (Sensei)
