When only 9 percent of California’s high-value jobs are located in urban cores, CEO and entrepreneur Jason Hughes has fought to bring high-paying jobs back to urban areas. With the help of Senator Mark Leno, he helped get legislation passed to establish a Mayor’s Task Force on Housing. Jason Hughes explains that is a new program to create affordable rental and market-rate homes that foster good-paying jobs.

Background on Jason Hughes
Jason Hughes volunteers his time and services to several charitable organizations in his spare time. Believing firmly in volunteerism, he has served as a regional director of the Southern California chapter of PFLAG, an organization supporting and serving families and allies of LGBTQ+ individuals, since 2011.
Jason also supported the Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation since 2012, the board of directors of Santa Monica Hospice Foundation, and the board of directors of the Guide Dog Foundation of San Diego. He served as president of the Guide Dog Foundation of San Diego from 2013 to 2016. Jason Hughes also served as the first national treasurer for the organization and a three-year term on the Southern California Executive Committee.
