Marwan Kheireddine is not only the chairperson and chief executive officer of AM Bank but also a distinguished professor at the American University of Beirut (AUB). The business magnate of Lebanese descent has maintained a lifetime passion for education. He got a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Richmond University in the United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in New York.

Since 1992, Marwan Kheireddine has held numerous positions at Al Mawarid Bank, where he is presently Chairman and General Manager.

In 2005, Kheireddine was elected to the American University of Beirut, Olayan School of Business, and the Middle East Advisory Board, all of which he continues to serve. In 2012, he joined the Beirut American Community School Board of Trustees. In addition, he is on the board of the Lebanese Institute for Policy Studies, a think organization noted for spearheading several projects advocating for judicial reform, honest budget procedure, and local government.

During his stint as Lebanese State minister from July 2011 to February 2014, Kheireddine served as an essential member of more than 15 ministerial committees, where he played a significant role in a wide range of economic, financial, and budgetary affairs. Kheireddine strongly supported the drafting of BDL Intermediary Circular 331, a rule designed to promote sustainable economic growth by encouraging and funding entrepreneurs, safeguarding Lebanon’s banking industry, and enhancing its compliance with international laws and standards.

Kheireddine has always viewed Lebanon’s youth as valuable and seeks to develop future business leaders. Marwan Kheireddine taught different financial courses at the American University of Beirut (AUB), including corporate finance, risk management, and an intro to economic research. According to him, more than 1,200 pupils have walked through his course, and many still maintain contact with him.

Despite his reluctance to provide straightforward business counsel, he is eager to advise Lebanese youngsters to ignore any damaging sounds. He emphasizes that negativity has no place in anyone’s life and that the quicker you eliminate negativity, the more affluent you will be.
